Workplace-Based Learning

The tutor that doesn't teach.
It spars.

InstruQ is a learning sparring partner for the workplace. It challenges and prompts — it never lectures, never hands you the answer, and never does your thinking for you. Your real work becomes your curriculum; your growth becomes evidence.

Learners launch InstruQ from inside their programme — there's nothing to sign up for here.

You
I gave a 500 ml crystalloid bolus because her blood pressure was falling.
InstruQ
Good — you acted on the trend, not the number. Now defend it: what if she'd had crackles at both bases? What would you have done instead, and why?
You
Then fluid might make things worse… I'd reassess for overload first.
InstruQ
That's the reasoning that matters. What single finding would change your mind fastest next time?
Challenge and prompt — not teach

Sharper questions. Stronger clinicians.

Telling you the answer would displace the very thinking you're here to build. InstruQ holds a hard line: three coaching modes, and none of them is "lecture".

  • NeverGives partial or complete answers to your own task
  • NeverWrites your reflection for you — your words stay yours
  • NeverReads a source so you don't have to
  • NeverValidates you when you're confidently wrong
  • AlwaysMeets you at the right level: independent application, guided practice, or Socratic questioning
  • AlwaysSurfaces your next gap — lightest touch first
  • AlwaysComes back to a struggle from a fresh angle until it resolves
  • AlwaysPushes back with evidence-seeking questions
How it works

A living map of your learning — built from real work.

Under every conversation sits a per-learner knowledge graph and a curriculum defined entirely as data. Nothing generic; nothing bolted on.

Your curriculum, as a graph

Concepts, prerequisites, tasks and sources arrive as a versioned schema — clinical today, any discipline tomorrow.

You talk about real work

Cases, decisions, reflections. InstruQ coaches in the moment, picking its next move from your own journey graph.

Evidence is distilled, carefully

A precision-biased pipeline recognises what you actually did — and stays silent when it isn't sure.

Your record grows

Formative xAPI statements flow to your programme's learning record store. Judgement stays with human assessors.

Clinical education first

Built for the ward, the clinic, and the yard.

The first InstruQ programme is clinical workplace-based learning — acute assessment, recognition of deterioration, escalation, and the reasoning that binds them. But the engine is subject-agnostic: swap the schema, keep the sparring.

It knows your journey

Every encounter, connection and struggle lives in your own temporal graph. Session two opens where session one truly left off — not where a syllabus says you should be.

Ready when you are

InstruQ gauges readiness before it provokes: prerequisites first, spaced reuse before skills fade, a different route when something isn't landing.

Evidence, not grades

Everything InstruQ records is formative and carries no marks, no scores, no verdicts. It notices what happened; deciding what it's worth stays human.

Identity-blind by architecture. InstruQ never sees your name, email, or role — only an opaque reference issued by your programme. Every learner's graph is a separately-sealed store; no learner can ever be compared to another inside the system; and erasure removes every trace, attested and signed.
